Alumna Provides Support for Honors Program in Her Estate Plan

Kathryn "Kat" Kissinger '86 Snowe was an honors student in business administration at Susquehanna who went on to a successful career in information services-working at the same company for the past 30 years. Now she is giving back to the honors program with a gift through her estate plan.
"The honors program was a big part of my college career, and I'd like to ensure that its programs can continue or possibly expand," Kat says.
Kat works for PMA Companies in a job that blends insurance and information technology. She entered Susquehanna just as personal computers were coming out, and she's been integrating technology into business practices ever since.
"Susquehanna gave me the tools to channel my initiative and intelligence into qualities that make me a good employee, co-worker and teammate," she says.
Kat lives in State College, Pa., where she was honored as Rotarian of the Year in 2011. She and her husband, David, who have been married for 25 years, are funding the honors program in both of their names. They chose a bequest because "we may not have the cash to donate right now, but we wanted to ensure we were sharing our estate with institutions of our choosing," Kat says.
She urged other alumni to consider making gifts. "Think about what Susquehanna has done for you in terms of guidance, opportunities or experiences," she says. "Think about how your gift could help provide those things to a deserving student who may not otherwise be able to obtain them."
